1.Protection of your personal data

When you visit our website, use one of our services or carry out some of our statutory tasks or tasks of general interest, the Federal Public Service Policy and Support processes a number of personal details. The FPS Policy and Support considers your privacy to be extremely important and we therefore wish to inform you as fully as possible.

We also want to give you as much control as possible over what happens with your personal data.

Our policy on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data is based on the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, also known as the GDPR.
 

2.For what purposes do we process your personal data?

The processing of your data will either be justified on the basis of a legal assignment or a task of general interest, or on the basis of your explicit consent, which will be requested from you.

The FPS Policy and Support processes your data for various purposes.

Most of the processing takes place within the framework of the legal assignments that can be found in the Royal Decree of 22 February 2017 establishing the Federal Public Service for Policy and Support.

Some data is exchanged with other authorities for the performance of a legal task or a task of general interest.

If we collect your data via the website, for an online service or for an order, we will ask you for your consent at that time if this processing is not required by a regulatory obligation.

When processing your data, we will inform you of the exact purposes as well as your rights in connection with the processing.

3.What personal data do we process?

We process various categories of data:

  • personnel details
  • data concerning diplomas and training
  • data from authentic sources which DT discloses as a service integrator

4.With whom do we share your data?

The data we collect about you will be treated confidentially. It will only be transmitted to the institutions authorised to receive it.

The FPS Policy and Support sometimes uses service providers who act as processors and who, in this capacity, must comply with the GDPR. In the contract with the processor, the FPS Policy and Support will include the necessary provisions for the protection of personal data. This service provider may not use the data for purposes other than those of the FPS Policy and Support.

These service providers may be located outside of the European Union. In this case, the protection of your data is ensured by the fact that they are located in countries that have an adequacy decision from the European Commission; the recipients are located in the United States of America and have joined the Privacy Shield, and appropriate contractual provisions have been concluded with the recipients.

5.For how long will your data be kept?

Data processed for the performance of a legal task or a task of general interest will be kept for the time necessary for the application of the law or the performance of the task of general interest.

Data processed on the basis of your consent will be kept for the time indicated at collection or until your consent is withdrawn.

6.How can you exercise your rights under the GDPR?

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data at any time in order to verify the accuracy of the information held and/or in order to correct or update this information. To the extent that this is not contrary to a legal obligation / the general interest, your request will be granted and processed.

You can also request that your personal data be completely erased if the processing is based on your consent. To the extent that this is not contrary to a legal obligation / the general interest, your request will be granted and processed.

7.What are we doing to prevent abuse or unauthorised access?

The FPS Policy and Support has implemented a number of electronic and administrative procedures and hardware facilities. It regularly re-evaluates these and performs updates to protect the data from unauthorised access, to ensure security, and to ensure that the information collected is used properly to conduct the desired processing.

The FPS Policy and Support staff who have access to information that permits the identification of individuals are obliged to protect this information in accordance with this data protection statement. In particular, staff must refrain from using this information for purposes other than providing the services for which it is intended.

When you visit the website, FPS BOSA registers your IP address, your browser and operating system, the external service that referred you to this service and the date and time of each page you visited.
